The Best Church in the Bible
In today's sermon from Acts 11-14, we discover the blueprint for building Christ's church. The account of the Antioch church serves as a shining example of how Jesus fulfills His promise: 'I will build my church.' (Matthew 16:18) We learn that a truly Christ-built church excels in four key areas: evangelism, training, serving, and missions. The message challenges us to embrace evangelism as everyday believers, not leaving it to professionals. It emphasizes the importance of thorough biblical training and the need for every member to be a server, not just a sitter. Perhaps most compelling is the call to missions - sending our best men to replicate our church elsewhere. This reminds us that what we have in our local church is 'too good to give away, but also too good to keep.' As we reflect on this, we're invited to consider how we can contribute to building Christ's church in our own contexts, always looking beyond our walls to spread the gospel and establish new communities of faith.
