Divine Destruction of Apostates
As we continue in our study of Jude, we delve into verses 14-16 where we are confronted with two sobering truths often minimized or overlooked in modern Christianity: the clarity of God's perfect, authoritative, holy Word and the certainty of His judgment. In this message, we're reminded that while Jude, along with many other authors of Scripture, quote writers and books that are outside of the Bible, this does not change the reality that it is inspired Scripture. In light of this truth, Jude makes it clear that God's judgment isn't just a concept, but a future reality that will be executed by Christ Himself, accompanied by His holy angels. This message challenges us to reflect on our own lives and the urgency of living in light of this coming judgment. Are we among the 'ungodly' described in these verses, or are we walking faithfully with God like Enoch? The repetition of 'ungodly' in the text emphasizes the gravity of rejecting God's ways. Yet, amidst this stern warning, we're also reminded of the gospel's power - that through Christ, we can be saved from this judgment. This teaching invites us to examine our hearts, deepen our reverence for God and His Word, and renew our commitment to living godly lives in anticipation of Christ's return.
